From season one of the 2014 HBO hit, True Detective. During an interogation the lead character Rus Cole (Matthew McConaughey) goes on an inadvertant rant about reality as perceived by a higher dimension perspective. Essentially he asserts that "time is a flat circle" meaning that everything we have ever done or will do, we are destined to repeat over and over again. Nihilism aside, both Oliver and I felt a strong pull towards the concept. Given that no matter how alive any of our beloved TV, film or comics stories may be, we're still witnessing them from a perspective that renders their dimension flat and their time entirely linearAnd this Flat Timez was born.

Flat Timez is built around original stories, unexpected plots and a voice that is distinctly independent. We’re not trying to make comics that fit neatly into an existing genre or formula. We build worlds that will surprise you, make you laugh, make you feel something, and hopefully leave you looking at the world a little differently when the last page is spent.Every project is made with a deliberately hands-on approach, from the writing and world-building through to the artwork, production and publishing. That independence gives us the freedom to take risks, experiment with different styles and tell stories that might never make it through a traditional publishing pipeline. We don't want to drive familiar/safe roads, we want to build our own.
